Louca Derville

Intern

Louca Derville is an intern at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), where she contributes to GPPi’s work on economic security and critical technologies. Her interest lies at the intersection of EU-China relations, semiconductor policy and Franco-German cooperation.

Louca is currently pursuing a master’s degree in European Governance at the Berlin-based Hertie School, with a focus on the EU’s foreign and security policy. During her semester abroad at Fudan University (Shanghai, China), Louca studied Chinese politics and diplomacy, with an emphasis on national strategies for semiconductors and critical materials. 

Before starting her master’s, Louca worked at the French Embassy in Germany as a project manager for start-up and digital policy. In this role, she conducted research on Germany’s artificial intelligence strategy, semiconductor industry and start-up ecosystem. She also gained experience at the Center for Digital Governance and the French Ministry of Economy, where she worked on communication, digital policy and entrepreneurship. 

Louca holds a bachelor’s in Commerce with a minor in Political Science at McGill University (Montreal, Canada).
