Consulting & Advisory Services
At GPPi, we believe that public, private and civil society actors are all critical to tackling global challenges. Our consulting practice builds on more than two decades of experience in advising governments, companies, foundations, and international organizations across sectors, including global order, peace and security, technological change, human rights and democracy, and humanitarian action.
Our clients value our combination of rigorous, policy-driven insight and practical consulting expertise. We offer organizations deep contextual understanding across 60+ countries, a trusted global network of fellows and partners, and a lean, flexible team that helps clients make sense of global developments and shape effective, forward-looking solutions — especially in times of turbulence and transformation. As an independent non-profit, we deliver unbiased, candid advice and reinvest all profits into cutting-edge research that contributes to the public good.
What We Offer
We recognize that every client’s situation is unique and tailor each of our engagements in close collaboration. Our services cut across three main areas:
- Geopolitical Risk & Strategic Foresight. We help companies navigate complex geopolitical realities by providing forward-looking analyses built on our deep content expertise and experience with foresight methodologies. Examples of our work include engagements with companies and industry associations, building on our work on critical and emerging technologies, back-casting the war in Ukraine, and anticipating governance breakdown in the EU’s neighborhood.
- Facilitation for Strategic Clarity. Drawing on dedicated facilitation expertise, we run highly effective and unique workshops and dialogue programs that foster constructive collaboration between diverse groups on a wide range of topics. We facilitated the future-oriented dialogue program Global Governance Futures (2010−2020) and are currently fostering exchange between Indian, Australian and German parliamentarians.
- Independent Monitoring & Evaluation. We deliver candid evaluations that allow our clients to learn, make informed decisions and adapt to fast-changing environments. Based on our deep contextual understanding, we have advised governments, international organizations and leading charitable foundations, such as the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the International Committee of the Red Cross, the World Food Program, and Malteser International.
How We Work
We take advantage of a deep roster of experience, expertise and methods for maximizing the relevance and value of our engagements with partners and clients:
- We draw on over 20 years of experience in a wide range of geographies and topics, from armed conflict to emerging technologies, allowing us to deliver nuanced insights grounded in deep, real-world understanding.
- We leverage our global network of fellows and our strong working relationships with cross-sectoral contacts and institutional partners (in both large international organizations as well as small, in-country institutions) worldwide to connect dots across regions and disciplines. This allows us to offer clients not just an overview of current developments, but a clear-eyed take on possible futures and implications for their business.
- We benefit from a working culture that feeds off open internal debate, maximizing the diverse skillset of our team. This results in sharper analysis and more innovative thinking that helps clients navigate complexity with confidence.
- We are a lean, flexible organization able to adapt quickly to client needs and tailor our approach to deliver focused, relevant, and actionable insights.
