Johannes Gabriel
Non-Resident Fellow
Johannes Gabriel is a non-resident fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. His areas of expertise include future studies and organizational strategy development. Johannes has been a member of all Global Governance Futures program teams.
Johannes has more than ten years of work experience in the field of strategic foresight. He is the founder and director of Foresight Intelligence, a systemic consultancy based in Berlin. With Foresight Intelligence, Johannes conducts inter-departmental strategic planning processes for the German Government, implements intercultural and multi-stakeholder strategic dialogues for leading think tanks, and supports future-oriented collaborative research projects for research institutions.
He is also a professor at Johns Hopkins University’s SAIS, teaching scenario planning in its Global Risk program.
Johannes has authored and co-authored research articles for, among others, Futures and the European Journal of Futures Research. He received a master’s degree with distinction in political science and economics from the University of Trier. He was a PhD student with the Daimler AG’s internal futures research division and wrote his thesis about the philosophy of science of future studies.
