Olaf Schulz
Non-Resident Fellow
Olaf Schulz is a non-resident fellow at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. His interests focus on geopolitical issues relevant to European sovereignty, security and values, with particular attention to digital sovereignty, resilience and critical digital infrastructure, as well as trade policy.
Olaf brings extensive experience in analyzing geopolitical developments from a corporate perspective and has contributed to shaping debates on trustworthy technologies in Germany and across Europe. With over 20 years of experience in the European digital and technology sector, he has worked in a range of international environments, including Munich, Brussels, Beijing, and Berlin, most recently serving as Head of Political Risk Analysis at Nokia.
Olaf gained extensive experience in risk communication at the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection. He holds a PhD in Biology from Freie Universität Berlin, where he conducted biophysical research.
