Mirjam Meissner

Mirjam Meissner is senior analyst at Sinolytics LLC, a specialized consultancy which provides expert analysis and strategic advice on China and focuses on the opportunities and challenges arising from China’s rapid technological and digital transformation. Prior to joining Sinolytics, she was head of program economy and technology at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) in Berlin, Europe’s largest think tank furthering policy-oriented research on contemporary China, where she focused on sustainable development, innovation policy and the automobile industry in China. Before that, she was a research associate with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin from 2010 to 2013. During her time with GPPi she worked in the institute’s Rising Powers and Global Governance program and managed the project “Zukunftsbrücke: Chinese-German Young Professional Campus.”
Mirjam received an MA in Chinese studies, political science and economics from the Free University in Berlin. During the 2007 – 2008 academic year, Mirjam studied at the Huazhong Normal University in China, with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC). Mirjam interned at the German Council of Foreign Affairs (DGAP) in the winter of 2009 – 2010 and with GPPi in the summer of 2010. She has also held a scholarship from the German National Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes).
