Lilly Riddle
Fulbright Fellow
Lilly Riddle is a Fulbright Fellow, a recipient of the German Fulbright Commission’s Young Professional Journalist Program scholarship and a journalist. Her work focuses on misinformation, media ownership structures, and the evolving journalism landscape.
Before moving to Berlin from New York City, Lilly covered the financial sector for The Daily Upside, a newsletter covering finance, economics and tech, as well as Citywire, a specialized industry publication for wealth management professionals. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate careers, she worked for a variety of local news outlets and was part of the inaugural cohort of Penn State’s News Lab, which facilitates partnerships between professional news organizations and student journalists.
Lilly holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Penn State University, with a concentration in International Reporting, as well as a distinction from the Schreyer Honors College. She has two bachelor’s degrees from the same university, majoring in Digital/Print Journalism and Political Science. Her undergraduate research focused on the ways in which media ownership structures affect editorial endorsement patterns at local newspapers across the United States.
While at Penn State, Lilly was also an undergraduate research fellow with the Rock Ethics Institute, contributing to lab projects on technological innovations affecting disabled refugees in conflict zones.
