Bilal Bağ
Research Associate
Bilal Bağ was formerly a research associate at the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin, where he contributes to the institute’s work on peace and security and was an editor of the PeaceLab Blog. Bilal’s areas of interest include European politics, German-Turkish relations, public diplomacy, and strategic communications in international politics, global terrorism, and conflict and peace in multi-ethnic societies.
Prior to joining GPPi, Bilal worked as a consultant in the field of strategic and political communications in Berlin. His professional experiences also encompass internships at the German Federal Academy for Security Policy, the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization, the European Movement Germany, and at a university and a think tank in Turkey.
Bilal received his master’s degree in conflict, security and development from King’s College, London. Prior to that, he graduated from the University of Konstanz in Germany and Sciences Po Aix-en-Provence in France with a bachelor’s degree in politics and public administration. His studies were supported by scholarships from the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and the German Foundation for Integration.
