Crisis prevention needs to focus on preventing atrocities
Mass atrocity prevention should be a key goal of the German government’s new guidelines on crisis prevention, stabilization and peacebuilding. This was the main conclusion from the roundtable “Preventing Crises, Preventing Atrocities: Lessons & Opportunities for Transatlantic Cooperation” on October 20. The presentations included forthcoming studies by Ambassador Lee Feinstein and Tod Lindberg, as well as GPPi’s Sarah Brockmeier. Partnering with Genocide Alert, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum and the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, GPPi hosted this event as part of the “PeaceLab2016” discussion.
