TTIP could put developing countries at risk
The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), if successful, could have negative effects for developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, argued Clara Weinhardt at the World Social Forum in Montreal on August 12. Participating in a panel organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, she said that in the medium-term, lower tariffs between the EU and the US could limit the ability of African producers to export value-added products to the transatlantic market.
