Obama’s nuclear legacy hangs over Hiroshima visit

President Obama’s plans to reduce the US nuclear arsenal were vulnerable to foreign and domestic forces that rendered progress on parts of his agenda unachievable, said Joel Sandhu in an interview with Deutsche Welle on May 27. President Obama’s visit to Hiroshima today should serve as a reminder that much still needs to be done to make the world a safer place from the threat of nuclear weapons. The Iran nuclear deal is a small step in the right direction, Sandhu said.
