Is it possible to find a middle ground on encryption?

Law enforcement agencies will need new capabilities in order to deal with the increasing spread of encryption technologies, said Isabel Skierka and Mirko Hohmann during their workshop at Europol’s conference on Privacy in the Digital Age of Encryption and Anonymity Online at The Hague on May 18 and 19. The workshop brought together representatives from law enforcement, civil society and technology companies for a discussion on options such as ​“lawful access” and ​“lawful hacking.”
