Improving internet backbone security requires user-centric approach

Government-led efforts to strengthen the security of internet backbones – the primary system of networks upon which internet traffic travels – should put the security of users first, argued Isabel Skierka during a panel discussion at the CyFy conference on cybersecurity in Delhi, India, on October 16. Ensuring the security of critical information infrastructures is the responsibility not only of governments, but also of vendors and telecommunications providers, who should be held liable for the reliability of their products.
