African Civil Society Circle calls for greater openness towards work of think tanks
To encourage greater openness towards the work of African think tanks, there should be government policy units dedicated to soliciting and digesting research from such institutions, argued policymakers and think tank representatives during an event on October 12 in Johannesburg organized by GPPi and the South African Institute of International Affairs, and funded by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. At the same time, think tanks must provide advice that is actionable and informed by a deep understanding of the dilemmas government actors are facing, participants said.
