German development actors should create coordinated cross-border child protection measures
German development cooperation should incorporate child protection activities into its emerging work on migration and coordinate these activities across national borders, argued Katrin Kinzelbach and Julian Lehmann during a Governance Sectors Day workshop on October 7. At the biannual conference organized by GIZ, the pair presented Kinderschutz ist Kinderrecht, a 2014 GPPi study that identified the vulnerability of unaccompanied migrating children as an area that could be strategically addressed by German development actors.
