UN should practice greater inclusion of conflict-affected countries
As world leaders gather at the United Nations in New York to celebrate the organization’s 70th anniversary, they demonstrate the continued relevance of the UN as a central forum for discussing international matters, said Gerrit Kurtz on the German radio station SWR2. Rather than investing too much energy in Security Council reform, member states should push for greater inclusion of conflict-affected countries and their neighbors in informal negotiations, Kurtz said.
