EU credibility threatened by failure to take collective action in refugee policy

As more and more refugees arrive in the European Union, the failure to form refugee policy in a coordinated and collaborative manner is harming the EU’s credibility as a normative global player, argued Julian Lehmann in a discussion hosted by the European Forum Alpbach, Austria’s preeminent dialogue forum on politics, economics, law and technology. Lehmann said that France and Germany should recruit allies to condemn the fence at the Hungarian border and formulate common responses.
