Ongoing crisis in Iraq cannot be blamed on a single person
Blame for the ongoing crisis in Iraq cannot be assigned to one person, wrote Wendy Anderson in a brief commentary for Politico, which asked experts to answer the question “Who lost Iraq?”, with Barack Obama and George W. Bush in mind. Anderson said Obama’s current strategy has been “sound,” but he could do more, including speeding up the pace of providing Iraqis with training and equipment, and even arming Sunni fighters. “Whether Iraq has been lost remains to be seen,” she wrote.
