EU needs to rethink refugee responsibility sharing

The current global regime on refugee protection does not allocate responsibility in an effective manner and must be reexamined, argued Julian Lehmann in an interview with Deutsche Welle about his recently published book Schiffbruch. To regain credibility in the realm of refugee policy, the European Union must actively demonstrate that refugee protection is a common purpose among its members, Lehmann said.
