Germany could have done more to prevent the Srebrenica massacre
On the occasion of the 20th commemoration of the Srebrenica massacre, former German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel argued that the international community, including Germany, should have done more to prevent the massacre, and that it should work more actively to prevent today’s worst atrocities. Kinkel spoke on a panel discussion moderated by Sarah Brockmeier and hosted by Genocide Alert and the German Atlantic Association on June 15. The panel also included the German government’s focal point for the responsibility to protect.
