The German Marshall Fund of the United States released on May 29 the report of the task force on the future of German-American relations. Thorsten Benner, a member of the task force, said that he views the report as a conversation starter towards a more sober, less emotional, less self-referential, more strategic and more globally oriented transatlantic relationship.” One of the task force’s recommendations is to the globalize transatlantic networks” (as exemplified by the Global Governance Futures program).
