An opportunity to rethink shared responsibility for asylum seekers in the EU

According to GPPi researcher Julian Lehmann, the ongoing arrivals of asylum seekers at the southern borders of the EU pose an opportunity to rethink a responsibility-sharing mechanism for asylum seekers. In an interview with the German radio station SR 2, Lehmann argued that the current system does not offer incentives for sea rescue, a flaw that ought to be rectified.
