GGF 2025 fellows discuss challenges posed by autonomous weapons in DC

What are the challenges brought about by increasing automation of weapon systems? Should fully autonomous weapon systems be banned? As part of the final session of the Global Governance Futures program (GGF), experts and GGF 2025 fellows gathered on May 4 at Brookings in Washington, DC, to examine developments in and the future of drone technology. The fellows of the arms control working group presented their final report and discussed their findings with invited experts Michael Horowitz and Mary Wareham.
