Policymakers and computer emergency response teams should strengthen internet security together

At a workshop on February 19th in Washington co-hosted by GPPi and the Open Technology Institute, experts discussed the idea of a Cyber Red Cross” federation and the establishment of principles among computer emergency response teams (CERTs) and policymakers to protect online networks. The workshop is part of the Transatlantic Dialogues on Security and Freedom in the Digital Age. Results will feed into a paper on CERT institutional models to be presented at the Global Cyber Space Conference this April.
