Violence against women is global and culturally specific

Violence against women reflects socio-political and economic structures of inequality, argued Catherine Wolf on the international talk show Quadriga on Deutsche Welle. During the discussion, which aired 11 December 2014, Wolf suggested that even though violence against women is a global phenomenon, its extent and manifestations are culturally specific. Solutions to violence, then, require a needs-based approach in which affected women themselves have a say.
