International development cooperation needs to step up on child protection

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, GPPi argues in a new study that child protection must be systematically and sustainably mainstreamed throughout all sectors of development cooperation. In view of global trends such as rapid urbanization, migration movements and natural disasters, the authors recommend implementing specific projects to tackle increasing risks for children. The study was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and authored by Katrin Kinzelbach, Julia Planitzer, Urban Reichhold, Marion Sandner and Helmut Sax.
