GPPi leads seminar on responsibility to protect at German National Academic Foundation summer school

From July 26 to August 1, Philipp Rotmann and Sarah Brockmeier led a one-week seminar at the summer school of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). As power and influence shift away from the West, say Rotmann and Brockmeier, the nascent and contested evolution of R2P as a norm has become a crucial arena in which fundamental conflicts about the future global order play out. The seminar sought to provide students with a better understanding of this global debate as well as instruments for implementing more effective protection.
