Researchers debunk perceived divisions on R2P between “West” and “Rest” at Oxford-GPPi panel discussion

On June 2, GPPi and the University of Oxford co-hosted a panel discussion on ​“The Responsibility to Protect (R2P) in a Post-Western World.” Panelists debated how R2P must adapt to the changing global order and discussed the ​“many different attitudes towards R2P in the Global South.” The panelists’ key arguments are collected in a Storify log. The panel was part of a two-day workshop co-organized by the GPPi-led research group on Global Norm Evolution and the Responsibility to Protect.
