published in Le Monde Diplomatique, Allison West applauded the International Criminal Court’s recent move to re-open preliminary investigations into the United Kingdom’s war crimes in Iraq. “It marks a hopeful turning point for Iraqi victims, the court, and international criminal justice on the whole,” said West, who believes that investigating the UK’s war crimes in Iraq will increase the legitimacy of the court, which has historically fixated on Africa.
