Researcher examines Turkish humanitarian assistance in new article
Turkey’s speedy evolution into the world’s fourth largest humanitarian donor as of 2012 has been accompanied by admiration and awe among international policymakers, humanitarian practitioners and journalists. In an article published May 26 in the journal International Development Policy, Andrea Binder details how Ankara designs and implements its humanitarian assistance, with collaborative relationships between the government, faith-based businesses and the religious segment of a divided civil society.
