GPPi co-organizes second “Zukunftsbrücke”: Chinese-German young professionals forum

On 18 October 2012, GPPi along with several partners announced that the second Zukunftsbrücke: Chinese-German Young Professional Campus will take place from 30 May to 8 June 2013 in Essen and Berlin, Germany. The Zukunftsbrücke is a project by Stiftung Mercator in cooperation with the All-China Youth Federation, Peking University and GPPi. The project theme in 2013 will be social dimensions of sustainable development.”

During the 10-day session in Essen and Berlin, 15 German and 15 Chinese young professionals from the public, private and non-profit sectors will get the unique chance to come together and exchange views on trends, visions, challenges and case studies of sustainable development. Discussions with prominent guests and experts as well as intensive group work sessions and cultural activities will be the core of the program.

The Zukunftsbrücke aims to foster mutual understanding and to develop a strong and lasting network of China’s and Germany’s future leaders. The first Zukunftsbrücke successfully took place in May 2012 in Beijing and Hangzhou, China. Alumni will be invited to join the Zukunftsbrücke 2013 for an alumni meeting in Germany in order to strengthen the project’s network.

Interested candidates between the ages 28 and 38 with an outstanding professional and academic record can apply for the Zukunftsbrücke. The application deadline is 6 January 2013.

Application requirements include at least two years professional experience, very good command of the English language and a strong interest in the issue of sustainable development.
