GPPi joins international network for improving humanitarian assistance as a full member

At its 26th meeting in Kuala Lumpur from November 16 – 18, the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Learning in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP)undefined accepted the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) as a full member. After three years as an observer of ALNAP, GPPi is the first German research institution to be admitted to the network as a full member.

A collective response by the humanitarian sector, ALNAP is dedicated to improving the quality and accountability of humanitarian action by sharing lessons, identifying common problems and, where appropriate, building consensus on approaches. It incorporates many of the key humanitarian organizations and experts from across the humanitarian sector. Members are drawn from donors, NGOs, the Red Cross/Crescent, the UN, independents and academics.

Being a full member of ALNAP will support GPPi’s aim to contribute to the improvement of humanitarian assistance around the world. GPPi conducts research, fosters global dialogue and evaluates humanitarian assistance programs. The GPPi approach to humanitarian assistance corresponds with the institute’s broader mission, which is to develop innovative strategies for effective and accountable governance and to achieve lasting impact at the interface of the public sector, business and civil society.
