GPPi participates in sixth meeting of the Global Atlanticists
GPPi Associate Director Thorsten Benner and GPPi Fellow Sergey Lagodinsky participated in the sixth meeting of the Global Atlanticists which took place from 1 – 4 November 2007 in Rabat, Morocco. The conference brought together members of the US Congress and German parliament as well as Congressional/Bundestag staffers and think tank representatives. The topic of the conference, organized by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation with the support of the German Ministry for Development Cooperation, was “The Changing Arab World — Political Islam, Security and Development in the Region and the Challenges for Transatlantic Cooperation”. The members of the Global Atlanticists were joined by leading representatives from the region, including Nouzha Skelli, the new Moroccan Minister for Social Development.
