GPPi moderates workshop at World Bank Conference in Paris
On September 28, Markus Palenberg, managing director of GPPi’s consulting branch, chaired a workshop on “Assessing Cost Effectiveness (Efficiency) of Global and Regional Partnership Programs (GRPPs)” at the World Bank Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) Consultative Workshop in Paris.
The IEG, under the auspices of the DAC Evaluation Network, has prepared a first draft of generally accepted evaluation principles for global and regional programs and invited a representative group of stakeholders to this consultative workshop in order to review the draft ahead of a more formal discussion which will take place at the next meeting of the DAC Evaluation Network in November 2006. Approximately 50 participants took part in the workshop with representatives from bilateral donor agencies, UN organizations, multilateral development banks, foundations, developing countries, NGOs, the private sector, and global programs management and evaluators.
The Development Assistance Committee (DAC) Network on Development Evaluation brings together representatives from thirty bilateral and multilateral development agencies. They work together on improving evaluation for more effective development assistance.
