GPPi and Hertie School complete second executive seminar on global public policy

In early September the second executive education seminar on global public policy organized took place in Berlin. The Global Public Policy Institute organized the seminar for and in cooperation with the Hertie School of Governanceundefined, the first professional school for public policy in Berlin.

The seminar brought together a group of 30 professionals from national ministries and agencies, international organizations, NGOs and business. The goal of this unique 5‑day learning forum was to equip participants with some of the key analytical, managerial and political skills to successfully shape the new global governance environment. The course employed a wide variety of teaching methods ranging from lectures and case study teaching to small-group work.

The faculty included leading international experts on governance such as John Ruggie (Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University), Peter Singer (Brookings Institution, Washington D.C.) and Ricardo Soares De Oliveira (University of Cambridge) as well as practitioners such as Simon Gilbert (De Beers Group), Charmian Gooch (Global Witness, London) and Achim Steiner (World Conservation Union, Gland).
