GPPi to host author of "Kofi Annan. Ein Leben"
Kofi Annan. Ein Leben the first biography of United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan was just released. By interviewing Annan, his close advisors, and family, Friederike Bauer, a journalist working for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, paints an insightful sketch of the human side of the public face of the United Nations. Bauer’s book is a must-read for all those interested in Annan and the political development of the United Nations in the post-Cold War era. GPPi will host the author Friederike Bauer for a discussion session on the reform of the United Nations on May 31. Additional speakers will include Professor for International Politics at the Free University Berlin, Thomas Risse, and Heinrich Kreft, deputy head of German Foreign Office’s Policy Planning Staff.
