GPPi Seeks Part-Time Researcher Focusing on Critical Technologies
The Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), an independent non-profit think tank, seeks a current master’s or PhD student to contribute to its work on economic security and critical technologies as a part-time research assistant or research associate.
The chosen candidate will conduct research on the trajectories of AI and related technologies, their implications for national and economic security, the role of international partnerships in tech sovereignty, and other themes, including AI governance, safety and security. Research tasks span from data collection and analysis to drafting written outputs. The successful candidate will also assist with project-related events, dialogue formats and certain administrative processes.
We offer a fixed-term part-time contract (12 – 20 hours per week depending on the candidate’s availability) until December 2026, with potential extension subject to mutual fit and funding. The position will be based at GPPi’s Berlin office. While limited periods of remote work from outside Berlin are possible, we expect the successful candidate to be based in Berlin; this is a firm requirement.
We encourage international applicants. All international applicants must have a valid visa that allows part-time work.
